we did our american summer duty and went to a local baseball game. hot and long and boring, but the home team won in the last inning.

we went up north again today with my in laws. we had a wonderful time seeing the flume, the basin, and riding the tram up cannon mountain.

it's a packed house today for 5 Day Club day four. it has been so hot on the little kids we decided to move indoors, for the shade.
we also went to liquid planet today with friends!

we are hosting a 5 Day Club!! today is day one. manny and i spent many summers teaching these clubs and now we can host them for our son and his friends.

backyard BBQ at our friends' house. we always get together for dinner every sunday, today though the men were brewing beer and invited several other people and their toddler children. it was crazy, but i think our little man enjoyed being the oldest kid there.

my nephew had his seventh birthday at a local climbing gym. i used to facilitate a climbing wall and ropes course years ago at a summer camp. i was in my element atop that wall and helping kids face their fears. and here i am at least twelve years later facing a climbing wall again. i made the attempt to climb this wall....making it about 3/4 of the way up before my sluggish body gave up.

we headed up north today. here the boy is not too happy in front of profile lake and the late old man on the mountain above him.
here he is at the water park of santa's village. we are definitely coming here again.

taking a break from swimming to fix up the bathroom. i painted the vanity and replaced the vanity top, added a little shelf. so much harder than i thought.

it is so hot we decided to go to a local waterpark. too bad a severe thunderstorm shooed us away early.

our city's main street shuts down for a few days each summer and welcomes throngs of people to explore new shops and such. since i grew up here is has become somewhat of a tradition for me. i look forward to this each year. too bad is was so hot this year.

my husband went back to work today and we've been itching to go swimming. looks like no one else is today. we found a brief respite from the rain today.

we drove to asheville, nc for my cousin's wedding. it was raining so hard, but still a beautiful time.
